Unity3D Game Engine

Shifting focus away from the smaller “fast apps”, Caramel Apps is currently engaged in a demo of Unity3D 2.0 Game Engine. This engine has advanced particle physics and rigidbodies so it will work well for building 2D and 3D games on the Mac, PC, iPhone/iPod and even Wii platforms.
Since the software trial just began Monday, there is only one 2D project tutorial completed. Right now you can download the output of the tutorial by clicking HERE. Once you download the zip file, extract into subfolders and run the EXE program and enjoy!
This is a PC version of the game build in 2D, using 3D elements. Coming soon, a tutorial based 3D first person shooter game, which will also be available for download. Once comfortable with the software (and using a paid licensed version), full scale development will begin on the PC and Mac based shooter game which is in concept stages right now - this game will also be fully ported to the iPhone.
Download the above demo and give it a test run. There is no scoring, no enemies and no objective to the game, but it is a great demonstration of the particle physics and navigating a little dude, and a spaceship around a 2D environment with movable obstacles. Give it a try!
